The Llancarfan Society has recently formed a theatre club to organise visits to theatres, concert halls, musical events, ballets and opera. The first trip to Miss Saigon, which will take place in December, was rather impromptu and was organised at quite short notice; hence group tickets were limited. However, a small group of locals are going to this performance; and it is our intention to organise future events, with transport, well in advance.
Until we know what people are interested in, we are putting forward some suggestions for 2018, and we would love to know your thoughts on the events listed below:
WNO season in February: La Forza del Destino; Tosca; Don Giovanni
Ballet in March and April: Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty
November: The West-end musical Wicked and in December, Roald Dahl’s Matilda the musical.
There are a number of classical concerts in St David’s Hall during 2018, featuring the WNO Orchestra; Philharmonia Orchestra; and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
If you are interested in joining us, could you let us know your contact details so that we can organise group-bookings and keep you up to date with developments. We would also like to hear from you with any other suggestions.
We have provisionally booked 30 tickets for each of the following shows in 2018:
Matthew Bourne’s Ballet Cinderella on Saturday 7th April at 2.30pm. Tickets (stalls) £47
War Horse on Saturday 14th July at 2.30pm. Tickets (stalls) £55
Please respond as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Payment will be due in full by 31st January. A coach has been arranged at a nominal cost, leaving from The Fox & Hounds each time.
